The Holy Spirit Will Lead You in the Way You Should Go!

26 But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.  John 15:26

The Holy Spirit is the “Comforter”.  The Bible describes Who He is and what He does as “Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, and Standby”.  The Bible says He will also lead us into all truth, therefore He is our Teacher!

The blogging class  last night taught me some things, but the problem I keep running into is a single word….MONEY!  People want to make money from blogging, or so I have been told a great deal lately.  Why is it so many times money is the bottom line?  Now, I am no idiot.   I know we have to have money to live and supply the needs of our family,  BUT when money takes on the definition of “Bernie Madoff” and it is just “I love the rich life and I want to live it!”  it kind of turns my stomach.   There is a difference in following God and Him making you rich so that you are supplied unto every good work and can supply for the needs of others as it says in Corinthians  and all out “Show me the money because I want it!!!” whatever “it” may be.   To me that is just greed unleashed.

I have heard a great deal lately, “To make money you have to do blah, blah”,  “To get ‘discovered’, you have to blah, blah, blah”.  My goal is not to be rich or for Juliana to be discovered.  The goal in my life is to be the servant and daughter God wants me to be and for JESUS to be discovered!!  My goal is  that when I stand before Him He says, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant, enter in!”

None of the things I have heard lately has been what God has told me to do.  If you want your blog to take off and have thousands of viewers it is about pictures, products, or recipes I am told.  But, that isn’t what God has told me to write about.  The scripture that keeps coming to my mind is, “He leads me beside the still and restful waters.”  Psalm 23:2b  HE LEADS ME!  God leads me!  Yes, it is good to listen and learn, but when advice takes you AWAY from where God is leading you, leave it in the dirt!  God will lead you where you need to be, doing what you should be doing, just when you need to be doing it!  He is the guarantee of HIS success, not your own for your own feelings of worth, because IN HIM I find my worth and it is great. “My” success does not come from who knows my name, how well they think I do something, how smart they think I am, or anything else!  It is God and God alone!

Maintain your focus, dear reader.  Keep your eye on the prize, which is Christ Jesus!  He is the only one Who can satisfy you.  Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope this devotion was a spiritual encouragement  for you!  Blessings to you!  I will see you soon!

  3. Yes, Wow, Amazing, Incredible, seem so small when stacked up next to God. But He is all these things and so much more! I thank God for you too, and I look forward to the testimony you will share when God’s plan for you in this area comes to fruition. All things work together for the good… :)

  4. Amen Juliana! Oh how I can relate!! I thank God for His provision, and what comes to mind is something my Pastor always says. “When you get about God’s business, He gets about your business!” So simple but true!! He knows our needs, wants, desires, and when we stay true to His calling and purpose in our lives we will receive that and so much more. I am in constant prayer about where God would lead me with my writing, and I am reminded of Matthew 6:33 (NKJV).
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
God bless you and stay the course for Christ!!

    • Patricia, your comment has so blessed me I could all over my house shouting “Glory” to the top of my lungs!! That is EXACTLY my heart!!! I love what your pastor says! I am going to start saying it, too! Thank you so much for this anointed comment! It has blessed my WHOLE DAY!!

      • All I can say is HOLY SPIRIT!!!! I’ll be honest. Moments before I read this I was wiping tears from my eyes. Nothing bad happened, but I was utterly frustrated after spending an hour accomplishing something that I thought should’ve been done in a minute or two. I felt as though my whole morning was wasted, but this word reminded me that my efforts were not in vain, and I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! It encouraged me to the core. The funny thing is that I just did an article on spiritual growth. God knew I would need to be reminded that I still have much growing to do too! First step: Trusting in His plan for me COMPLETELY!!

      • WOW! I know as writers we find the simple word “wow” a bit funny, but sometimes God sooooo amazes you, no word is adequate! I love it when the Holy Spirit brings God’s children together that are on the same page! Praising God for you, Patricia!!! What an encouragement and blessing to me you are! May God’s richest and most abundant blessings be yours!!!! Juliana

God bless you! I would love to hear your thoughts!
