Praying In Jesus’ Name!

John 16:23-24 KJV

23″ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

Why is it so important to pray “in the name of Jesus”?  Jesus is our Mediator, Intercessor, Advocate, and Lord as it says in Reverend Kenneth E. Hagin‘s book “Bible Prayer Study Course”.  Notice our scripture says “whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you…”  There is  only one way to approach God  and that is in the name of Jesus.  There is no other way to enter into the Holy of Holies except by Jesus Christ. We praise Jesus, we certainly tell him we love Him and are grateful to Him for all He has done for us, but  we pray in the name of Jesus to the Father!

God is our Father if you are born again.  A good father provides for this children.  He watches over them and protects them.  An insecure child is not a joyous child. An insecure child is a child who,  in some way,  has been let down or hurt by the very one that should have loved and protected them.   A child who knows they can depend on their father to meet their needs, protect, and be there for them in time of trouble is a secure and joyful child. God is a good Father and we should rest secure in Him knowing when we pray, He hears and answers us, as well as takes care of all of our needs!   Notice it says in the second verse, “and ye SHALL receive, that your JOY MAY BE FULL.”  Our joy is not full when we need something and don’t have it.  Jesus made this promise  so that we could live in confidence and joy.  We have confidence in God because we have approached Him through Jesus representing all that HE is, not all that we are not!  We know by doing this our prayers are heard and they are answered!  That is how our joy is made full!  If Jesus said it, you know you have it!  He is always dependable, trustworthy and true!

Go in joy today, my dear reader!  God is willing and able to meet your every petition in the mighty name of Jesus!   It says in psalms for His names sake He will answer us!  What joy  and confidence we have in knowing that!  Blessings to you today,  dear reader!  I will see you next time!

Hi again Juliana, very True, I didn’t get a chance to comment on the Post you wrote about giving God the glory but I read it in my Inbox, we remember what we do for others we are doing for Jesus. The Scriptures remind us many times to uplift and encourage each other and of course it is part of Love, God uplifts us as we know.

Paul also showed the importance of doing this and sadly what many don’t understand but it is part of God’s Love, is the need for us to rebuke, or correct and warn others. To see our Brother or Sister in the Body of Christ in danger or putting others in danger and not to say anything is not Love, it is apathy or self interest but we do so by God’s Truth not our own agenda, it is how God corrects us if we don’t respond by repentance, He withholds His eternal blessings and so we reap the evil we sow like the Prodigal son until we come to our senses. A hard lesson to learn but our choice and needed if we are to be perfected in Love… as an example holding onto bitterness and resentment and seeking revenge eats us away so we do not have God’s Peace or Rest and we do not feel His deep inner Joy in our heart or can we feel His Love for us or share it with others…but the Truth sets us free when we accept it.

Hi Juliana, as the pingback shows I value your message, when we pray from the heart in Jesus name it is powerful but of course if we are holding onto sin as I shared before then it is not from a Loving heart and God does not hear our prayers.

Thank you for joining up with me in Kingdom’s Garden and I’m thankful you liked the Posts, God’s Truth is the only thing that can change lives, that can set people free.
