Psalm 107
Thanksgiving for God’s Deliverance
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord proclaim that He has redeemed them from the hand of the foe 3 and has gathered them from the lands— from the east and the west, from the north and the south.
4 Some[a] wandered in the desolate wilderness, finding no way to a city where they could live. 5 They were hungry and thirsty; their spirits failed[b] within them. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He rescued them from their distress. 7 He led them by the right path to go to a city where they could live. 8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His faithful love and His wonderful works for all humanity. 9 For He has satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things.
Bring it on! Today is Thanksgiving for our family. I will stuff myself with turkey and dressing, candied sweet potato casserole, cracker salad, and the list goes on for a mile! Then I will say what I do every year as I plop into the recliner, “I NEVER want to see food again for the rest of my life!!” Two hours later, I will be perusing the dessert bar at my mother’s asking when is supper! Our family will all be together saying and doing the same things!
We are blessed. I count my blessings as the love of a family, all of us being together, but most of all God being present in our home and lives! I am thankful Jesus paid a high price for us just to have us! I am thankful that everyday I can say thank you for the best things in life that are irreplaceable….my loved ones!
Our family is growing and I am thrilled about that! This year one new one and next year, well who knows? I have decided, in my life, everyday is Thanksgiving, not just a month out of the year! God thinks of me everyday….the least I can do is appreciate Him for it!
