Preventative Medicine in the Bible

Normally, I am very energetic (overly so), I love to entertain, I love to cook for company, I love to play games.  I love having company over and the more the merrier!!  Here lately I can’t seem to get out of my pajamas.  It has become so visible that my husband walked toward me one morning to give me my morning kiss and laid hands on me and spoke vitality back into my body!

My mother called me a week ago.  She told me one of my father’s dearest friends in the world (I will not say who because I have local people who read the blog and I cannot give away privacy) had been found to have acute leukemia.  This is an elderly gentlemen and most would have said, “Well,  he is almost ninety years old, it is just his time!” but, dear reader, let me ask you something.  I don’t care how old you are, if you want to live do you want people to give up on you and pray “death” prayers over you?  I know I don’t!  If my mission in this life isn’t accomplished when I am one hundred years old, I expect people to pray life over me!  God is the God of LIFE, NEVER pray death over someone.  Now, if they tell you they are ready to go home, then you can pray they go with no pain and no suffering, but other than that Jesus took stripes for HEALING!!  One night I stayed up most of the night praying for this gentleman in the Spirit.  They were not sure he would make the trip alive to M.D. Anderson.  He had to be on oxygen and was growing weaker and more ill everyday.  I sent a little packet my church hands out to people who are suffering with any illness or are in the hospital.  I sent one for him.  My mother sent her healing scriptures and ministered to him.  When they got there he as worn out.  My father called my mother and told her it was very bad.  I continued praying and speaking the Word over Him into the night.  The next morning when he awakened he had strength he didn’t have before.  In 12 days he had only eaten one egg.  He got up and ATE A FULL BREAKFAST!!  They went on to M.D. Anderson and the doctors did several tests.  The doctors called yesterday and told him how good his tests looked and he didn’t even need chemo!!  It wasn’t as bad as they thought!!!  His white blood cell count had DOUBLED since last week and maybe they will do a bone marrow transplant at some later date, but now one is not necessary!!  GLORY TO GOD!!!!!  That is what the Word of God and praying in faith will do.  I have to get back to this myself over myself!  I know what to do and I need to do it!

Yesterday, I had another attack with my stomach.  I was so upset because it was our Christmas.  My family is used to it because I have suffered with it off and on for over twenty years.  When it hits, it is like a cycle.  Until you break the cycle it can last for up to six months or longer!  Last night I got up in the night with my back just giving me severe pain.  I was getting pretty angry!  The Lord spoke to me and said, “There was a time you wouldn’t put up with this.  There was a time when it started you fought it with My Word.  Now you just accept it by saying nothing other than you are hurting.  Every time this tries to hit you, tell the devil since he has you up you are going to pray in the Spirit and get the Word you know coming out of your mouth!”   I knew He was right.  Oh, I would agree with hubby on my stomach, but satan was still bring symptoms full swing!  Sometimes you have to change your method of warfare.  If you need backup of something extra and it is at your disposal to use, then why not use it?  After the Lord told me that, I crawled back in bed and confessed all the scriptures I knew applied to my symptoms.  I also confessed I was His beloved and He gives His beloved sweet sleep.  I slept the rest of the night without incidence.

Today, when I got up hubby came to give me my morning hug.  He told me, “You know when I was doing my morning walk God spoke to me and told me there were some things I had gotten lax in.  I am not speaking certain scriptures like I had been and God told me to start back up.”  Coincidence?  NO!!

Tonight, if the devil tries his old tactics with me, I am jumping out of bed, coming into the family room and God and I are going to commune!  I am going to do exactly what He told me to do!  I have had enough and it is coming to a sure end and I am the winner because of the blood and stripes of Jesus!  I will speak the Word and it will not return void!  It won’t take long and I will be back in bed sleeping like a baby and the enemy will think twice the next time he tries to attack me with this mess!  Have you ever heard someone say they were going to give the devil a black eye?  Well that is how you do it!  You fight back in the Spirit and the Word and God makes sure YOU ALWAYS WIN!
