This is how Gracie looked when the bed broke…poor baby!! Lol!!!!
I had begun some time back to have back issues. If you are new, it won’t take you long to realize I am, well, clumsy! On my anniversary in December I fell in a hole. I thought I was alright but I began to hurt severely in my back. My hubby and I had gone camping, I didn’t see the hole because it was dusky when we set up our trailer and down I went!
At first I tried to convince myself it was our mattress. I think it did contribute to it! I went and bought a new one that is made for people with back issues. It did really well at first but then I began to have pain again. It grew worse and worse. Finally, I decided it was time to call the doctor. He found upon examining me, I had pulled and twisted every muscle in my back! He prescribed pain medication that made me very, very nauseated. I decided living with the pain would have to do.
On a Sunday, my pastor called out backs that needed to be healed. Mine was! Glory to God!! I went on my way and while I was doing a load of laundry one day I reinjured it! By the end of the day I am LONGING for my bed!!
Tonight, when hubby got in from work, while he was changing out of his suit and into his jogging pants and slouchy Aggie t-shirt that has seen much better days, I decided to lie down on the bed and talk to him. As soon as I did the bed fell to the right (where I decided to lie down)…umm, no jokes, please although plenty come to my mind! I hollered, “What just happened??” Even though hubby was standing less than six feet from me!
“I don’t know”, hubby says with a confused look on his face.
Me…What is this?? I say as I pick up something silver from off the floor.
Hubby…Baby, that is called a bolt!
Like I know what that is! He begins to finigle around trying to see what happened. Nothing looked wrong with it so he decided to ignore it. He put the infamous bolt on the dresser and we went on our way.
As I laid down tonight, as every night, hubby begins to scratch my back which puts me straight to sleep! Gracie is curled up by my side pressing her little face against mine. Oh, there was peace in the world and I was being lulled by the calm. Suddenly, KABOOM!!!!! I jumped!
Me…There it goes again!! What is happening??
Hubby…HUGE sigh….I don’t know, Baby.
He gets up and when I look up I thought I would literally pass out from the hysterical scene I saw. Due to my, umm, age I have a window unit even though we have central air. It keeps the night sweats away. I look and there stands hubby in an Aggie jacket and his underwear. I almost fell out of the bed I laughed so hard!! This time the laughter that was so intense I actually thought I was going to pass out!!
Me…What are you doing in your underwear and a jacket on??
Hubby…That window unit is COLD! Now, I need you to get up, Baby.
Me….Not until I get a picture of this!
I laughed so hard I could not even take the picture at first. If this wasn’t a Christian blog and I didn’t think he would kill me I would post it!!!! Well, with all that said the bed frame was broken. Hubby could only find those infamous bolts to my side of the bed. The ones on his side were gone! I began to pray that he had some place in all of his tools what he needed to fix the frame! I was so glad his side was broken, too because at least that proves I am not a complete elephant and my weight had not broken it like I thought had happened in the first place!
I knew I had not been sleeping well, but I thought it might be like the “Princess and the Pea” story, except I am not a princess and I would never feel a pea if I laid on it because it would definitely squash it! We won’t talk about why!
Thank goodness hubby had all he needed and he fixed it. I feel so sorry for him. It is midnight and he has to go far out-of-town on business early in the morning! I told him he should have pulled me to the lake to camp! He still won’t learn his lesson and realize I am rarely wrong!
Well, in a way he is right. The last time he pulled me to the lake I fell in a hole that started this whole business!
I am so glad my husband understands my uniqueness…that is what we will call it, and loves me in spite of it!
Goodnight, precious reader. Hopefully, I can stay in bed this time without demolishing it!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. ROTFL. Priceless.
