Let’s Talk Super Bowl Menu!

With the  Super Bowl approaching food is one of the staples, other than a 47 inch screen television (or larger!)!!  Let us talk food with a real FOODIE!!

I am going to share a “secret” recipe that is sure to please all!  One of my main dishes is Juliana’s Barbeque Links.  These links are so tender, they practically melt in your mouth!  They are so popular in my little hometown, my daughter won second place in a high school competition, and all I did was cook loads of these links!  Get ready for easy and yummy!!  The recipe is as follows!

Juliana’s Links

juliana's links  1 package of links…I use Zummo, which is a favorite around here!

1 regular size bottle of barbeque sauce (I use Bull’s Eye)

1 can of Coca Cola (this is what makes them so tender)

Slice the link down the middle, but do NOT cut it into!  This allows for the Coke to get inside and tenderize your meat.  Toss it into your crock-pot (slow cooker).  Add the barbeque sauce of your choice.  Add one can of Coke.  Stir well.  Set heat on high for six hours!  Serve on hot dog buns or plain slices of bread.  Lick your lips and enjoy!!

Now, with barbeque you need chips and dip!  I do a simple cheese dip.  You probably know it, but in case you don’t here we go!

Cheese Dip

1 pound Velveeta Cheese (in the block)

1 can Ro-Tel Tomatoes (If they don’t have this brand in your area, any can of spicy tomatoes will do…you will want the tomatoes chopped!)

Cut up into cubes the cheese.  Open the can of Ro-Tel.  Dump it on top of the cheese and microwave for 4 minutes at a time.  Each time you must stir the mixture until creamy and melted!  I serve with Fritos or tortillo chips.   That is it!  :)

Guacamole Dip

This is easy and very Tex-Mex!!  I use around 6 HAAS Avocados, half of a sweet onion, Kosher salt to taste, garlic powder to taste, and I squeeze one lemon all over and mix well so the avocados don’t turn brown!  You may also add diced tomatoes if you like!  I mash the avocados with a potato masher and add the rest, mixing well!  How easy is that??

Crab Dip    crab dip

This is another beyond easy one!  Grab 2 small cans of crab and drain.  Use one 8 ounce block of cream cheese (room temp).  1 bottle of cocktail sauce.  Open the cream cheese and put it in serving bowl, pour the drained crab over the top, pour the cocktail sauce over the top of the crab and mix well!   Serve with “Wheat Thins“.  This one is really a pre-game hit!!

For sweets, I am all about easy.  I use packaged cookie dough!  Seriously!  But, I also do a granola mix of chocolate chips, almonds, peanuts, butterscotch chips and any granola cereal.  Dump it all together and yummo!!

Enjoy your Sunday and enjoy the game!  More than anything enjoy your friends and relatives!!  You will really love you will be the hit of the party and you did it in no time flat!  Blessings!!  Juliana
