Simple, Yummy, and Oh So Easy…Keep Talkin’
As I was perusing the internet and since this week I went on an omelet and salad way of eating, when this phrase popped up I was all ears…or eyes!
http://vintagecountrystyle.blogspot.com/p/recipes.html is the spot I am talking about and she has a fabulous salad I am trying tomorrow!! I am going to share it with you, but this is one blogspot I intend to visit on a regular basis! Here we go!
This is so simple! 1 Clean Wide Mouth Quart Jar Poppyseed Dressing Strawberries Blueberries Mandarin Oranges Drained Romaine Lettuce Dried Cranberries Glazed Pecans Make sure all ingredients are clean and totally dry before packing in the jar! Add 2-3 T. of Poppyseed dressing to bottom on jar. Add in the next layer of strawberries cut into quarters. Add next layer of blueberries Then drained and patted dry Mandarin Orange slices Next, the Romaine Lettuce Top off with dried Cranberries and add a few Glazed Pecans on the top of that! Store in refrigerator for 2-3 days with lid. Shake when ready to use to mix in the dressing.

What is so great about this is anytime of the year this salad is available! None of the fruit listed is unavailable at any time! If you are wanting to lose weight, watch the poppy seed dressing! It is full of calories and carbs and I want less carbs, so we can tweak it a bit. One of my favorites is as follows!
1 roast chicken breast (no skin and chopped)
romaine lettuce
purple onion (chopped)
mandarin oranges
pineapple (sliced and diced just a bit)
dried cranberries (go easy on these, they are high in sugar)
Ranch dressing (3 TBS)
Don’t forget the jar!
Place the ingredients from bottom to top….dressing, cranberries to taste, pineapple, mandarin oranges, chopped purple onions, romaine lettuce, and the chicken chopped. Eat right away since the chicken can ruin easily! Yummy!! Enjoy!
If you have salad ideas, please feel free to let me know! I’d love to try them and I don’t mind one bit featuring you with it!
