6 Therefore, leaving the elementary message about the Messiah, let us go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, faith in God,2 teaching about ritual washings,[a] laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And we will do this if God permits.
Tonight my husband and I were talking about this very thing. Why is it people take so long to grow up and mature in the Lord? Do you know this actually causes the body of Christ (the church) to not be able to move forward as they should and want to? Why? Because the pastor is having to deal over and over and over with the same issues every Sunday! It isn’t fair to those who have read the Word, prayed and meditated on it through the week, and live it everyday, not just when they are in a church building!
When a baby is born, it grows consistently. Every week it gets bigger and quickly it shows mental development! It isn’t long until people are telling the parents how fast the baby has grown and how smart it is. It was like yesterday, the mother was holding a newborn that could barely hold its head up and now look at how big it is and all it can do! It should be the same with our spiritual growth! We were newborn babes when we are first born again, but we aren’t supposed to stay that way for years on end! We should be steadily progressing, just as that newborn child is.
There was a Wendy’s commercial a few years ago where there were three elderly women who had gone into a hamburger place to eat. They ordered their hamburgers and when they got them the beef patty was so small one elderly woman called out in a loud voice, “Where’s the beef??” It is like that today with so many people who are Christians. They walked an aisle and it just kind of stopped there. They attend church hit and miss, they read their Bible and study it hit and miss, they are up one day and back down the next! Where is their substance?? Where is the meat of the Word in their lives?
I live in an area that is not far from the Gulf of Mexico. We are used to hurricanes. Galveston Island is very familiar to us. One year this area was severely hit by a hurricane. Many of the beautiful beach houses were literally leveled! What was odd was the fact that some of the older beach houses, those not as fancy or new, were left standing!! They incurred little to no damage. I have a friend that works in construction. As he was out evaluating the damage and giving bids one of the building inspectors of Galveston, Texas was with him. My friend asked him, “Why did the older beach homes remain intact and the newer ones are so damaged?” “Because the older homes were built by a stricter and stronger code. That code changed through the years and the newer ones did not have to meet the old and better code” was the officials response.
I ask you, precious reader, what “code” are you building your life upon? I know our spirits are made perfect and sealed to the day of Christ‘s returning, but is your soul building on the things God has done in the spirit? Are you still living out of the old, dead carnal nature? Are you still recognizable to your old crowd of friends? Are there noticeable differences to your family? Are you, yourself building your life on the things of the spirit and growing, or is someone still having to coddle and bottle feed you? If a storm in life came, would it level you because you have failed to meet the code of the Word, so to speak? If the meat of the Word was put in front of you, could you chew it and swallow it to where you are growing and absorbing the nutrients of it? Don’t tell me your pastor doesn’t feed you! He is feeding you just fine if you are where God has called you to be! You aren’t able to chew and get what you need out of it is more like it, and because maturity isn’t there pride steps up and blames anyone and everyone but yourself!
You should not have to be hearing every Sunday the Lord saying to you, “I am coming quickly! You know not when! Get your life right, you don’t know when or if you will have another chance!” Let God be able to say, “I am proud of your love walk, your progress in the things of Me, and your hunger and desire for me! You are now a vessel I can do something with and through!!” Believe me, the more mature Christians of the church are longing for this message! The church as a whole will be better off, so please stop putting it off! We have a right to be blessed just like you do! Grow up so we can all have the chance to experience God’s glory to the full, and so that we can all get the nutrients we need!! Don’t make the Holy Spirit have to drag you! Step up to what God has for you! We are ready to be a progressive church for Christ, and it is overdue! Juliana
I wonder if you realize just how much you mean to God. Do you realize how important you are to Him? Do you realize what a huge role you play in God’s grand scheme of things as a child of God? How, as a willing vessel, God uses you in a mightier way than you even realize? I know in my life I did not even know when God was using me to help someone else many times, just as I know He does with you.
Have you ever seen someone just to have them say to you, “Do you remember several years ago, I saw you and you prayed for me? You gave me a scripture that helped me through one of the darkest times of my life? You told me something only God could have known?” I have had these things said to me and did not recall saying or doing anything they were saying! Why? Because it wasn’t about me. I was simply God’s messenger for that time! That was between God and His beloved!
What it has caused me to do is stop and think about how important it is to keep the anointing flowing in my life. How I MUST take time to pray and worship in the private confines of my home just as I do at church. How I MUST listen and be obedient, because that is the training ground for what I may have to use tomorrow! How important it is to stay saturated with the Word of God, because Juliana’s words won’t buy you a cup of coffee, much less change your life! God’s Word will heal you, deliver you, and change your world forever!!
I think even now as I sit in my quiet home, as everyone sleeps peacefully, not everyone has a bed tonight as I do. Not everyone has the peaceful environment I have so been blessed with. Not everyone’s children are home and they have no idea where they are or who they are with. Not everyone’s husband or wife is where he or she said they would be. Not every home is safe and secure. Not everyone is filled with joy and peace knowing Who holds their tomorrows! Many tonight are walking floors over finances, relationships, disappointments and the discouragements of life having no idea where to turn or what to do. I am praying for you, precious heart! Though I don’t know you, God does! Though I don’t see you, God does! Though I have no idea what you face, God does!! Though I don’t have your answers, GOD DOES!!
Thank God FOR God!! Thank God for praying mothers and grandmothers, praying brothers and sisters in the flesh and in the Body of Christ! Thank God for the Holy Spirit, Who prays through us and for us and others when words seem to fail us! The Bible tells us He prays the perfect will of God for our lives! Don’t be discouraged, precious reader! I am not the only one up praying for you tonight! God has a massive army of prayer warriors! God has never lost a battle and the one you are facing, even now, was won on the cross over 2,000 years ago!
God loves you, precious heart and so do I!! Get your Bible and dig in. If you don’t have one, let your church know or a Christian friend God has sent your way; They will help you get one. If you have no one, leave ME a comment on this post. I will help you get a Bible!! I post a chapter from the Bible daily. Look back through those posts, because I have shared almost all the New Testament. God will take you straight to the scripture that is intended to help you and He will fulfill it if you will believe! Yes, He loves you that much!
I leave you with this scripture….
10 Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.
Grab hold of this promise! He will do exactly what it says or He would not have promised it! Blessings to you, dear reader! Remember, Jesus prays and intercedes for you! Who better to have on your side?? Blessings in abundance! Juliana
What do you need from God today?
Stop and think about that for a moment. It’s a serious question. Picture yourself the way you want to be, healthy and whole in every area of your life. That is the will of God for you, you know. I Thessalonians 5:23 says, He desires you to be “preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)” (The Amplified Bible).
God wants you to be sound and complete. It’s His perfect will for you to be whole, undamaged and intact—spirit, soul, and body—before Jesus returns. In light of that fact, let me ask you again: What changes would you need God to make for His will to be fulfilled in your life? What would it take for you to be whole?
It would take a miracle.
That may well be what you’re thinking right now. If so, I am here to tell you God has one for you. He has as many miracles as you need. He is the God of the miraculous.
What’s more, He is thinking about you today. That’s amazing, isn’t it? The fact that the Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth has you and me on His mind is almost more than we can comprehend. Yet we know it’s true because the Psalmist says, “How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me!” (Psalms 139:17-18, The Living Bible).
Just imagine that! When you woke up this morning, God was thinking about you. He was aware of your needs. He was mindful of the blessings He has laid up for you and He was making plans to get them to you.
In other words, when you awoke this morning God had your miracle on His mind.
Every Part Precious
I preach about healing a lot and healing is wonderful. But sometimes you need more than healing, you need a miracle. A miracle is different. A miracle is something that is absolutely impossible apart from the supernatural working of God. It’s something that cannot happen by natural means.
If you have a disease, you need healing. But if you have a part missing—if you were born without fingers or toes, for example, you need a miracle. For years, it’s been prophesied that we will see those kinds of miracles again in the Body of Christ. It’s been prophesied that we’ll see all the miracles the early church saw and even greater miracles than those. I sense in my heart we’re there!
I truly believe it. They might say, “Surely, you don’t expect to see somebody grow a part on their body where there was no part before!”
Yes, I do. God has parts for people! The Bible says He made all of our parts before we were born and we can easily believe that. Why is it so unthinkable that He could add another part at a later time if it’s needed?
Just before the verses we read that tell of God’s thoughts about us, Psalms 139 says:
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect [or unformed]; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them” (verses 14-16).
According to those verses, God wrote down all your members (every part of you) in His book. And because God does all things well, He didn’t write them down as broken or missing. He wrote them down as whole and intact.
My friend Billye Brim has revelation of that so she speaks to her body according to those scriptures. She says, “My parts are written in God’s book. So, parts I command you to be the way God designed you to be. I command you to be whole and complete in agreement with God’s book. All my parts are intact with nothing missing, nothing broken. All the parts of my body function and work as they’re designed. I receive what the Book says about me!”
You may not have thought God cared about your parts but He does. Your parts are as important to Him as they are to you. He made them for you and He wants you to have them the way He made them. We need to get that revelation because God is ready to restore some parts. He wants to work miracles!
Expect the Impossible I am fully expecting to see those miracles in the days and months to come. In times past, we’ve had people who were very small in stature because of disease or abnormality come to Healing School and ask us to pray for them that they might grow. Naturally, their DNA had patterned their body to be very small. But that’s not their heavenly DNA. That’s not how God designed them to be. That’s just something that happened as a result of the devil’s work in this world. Through thousands of years of getting people to sin, he’s been able to mess up God’s perfect plan for people-not only spiritually but physically.
Well, what do you think God did when He saw that the devil’s work had perverted His divine plan and made that person abnormally small? Do you think He said, “Oh, my. I guess the devil won this time. I’d better go back to My book, scratch out My perfect physical plan for this person and write in ‘midget-size,’ instead.”
Certainly not. God never changes. He just kept the original entry in His book which says that person’s DNA is perfect. Now He’s waiting for somebody to agree with Him and believe for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
If faith in the Word of God is spoken and released without wavering, I believe we can see that small person G-R-O-W up and become normal right before our eyes.
You might think that would be impossible and, naturally speaking you’d be right. “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). “All things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23) so we need to start believing.
We need to start expecting the impossible!
It’s Never Too Late Of course, people with physical abnormalities or missing parts aren’t the only ones who need miracles. Miracles are also needed when natural circumstances have gone on so long that it looks like it’s too late for a turn around. Abraham and Sarah needed that kind of miracle, for example. They needed a child for their lives to be whole and intact. Yet they were well past childbearing age when God told them He was going to give them one. They were about 100 years old.
No doubt, their natural thought was, Even if God did heal our barrenness, it’s too late for us now. We’re too old. That kind of thing can’t happen this late in the game. But God did it for them, didn’t He? He proved that it’s never too late for a miracle.
A friend of ours experienced a “never too late” kind of miracle in his family. His name was Justus Du Plessis and although he went home to be with the Lord a couple of years ago, he experienced some amazing things during his lifetime as a Pentecostal minister in South Africa. On one occasion his father was desperately ill. In fact his father’s death was so imminent that the doctor who came to see him went ahead and filled out his death certificate.
After the doctor left, the church members gathered around to pray and while they were praying, he was healed. Do you know what he did? He got up, took a shower, milked the cows and then walked to the doctor’s house to return his death certificate.
Talk about a miracle coming late in the game! You know it’s late when you have to take back your own death certificate!
Clearly with God, it’s never too late for a miracle.
The Definitive Factor Okay now, you may be thinking, if God wants to give me a miracle and I want to receive one-what’s the problem? Why hasn’t a miracle already taken place in my life? For a miracle to get from heaven to earth, a divine connection has to be made. Miracles aren’t magic. They don’t just happen—poof!—because God decides to wave His miracle wand one day. No, miracles primarily occur when people put themselves in position to receive them.
To find out how to position yourself for a miracle, you can study the miracles in the New Testament. As you do you’ll see patterns emerge. You will find certain elements were most always involved when miracles happen.
The first of those elements is faith. Whenever a miracle takes place someone on earth is believing. It might be the person who needs the miracle. It might be the person who is ministering. It might be someone praying for the one who is in need. The situations may vary, but the fact remains that it is faith in God which connects the power of heaven with the need on earth. For a miracle to happen someone has to believe that God is willing and able to do it—and do it now.
Galatians 3:5 confirms that. There the Apostle Paul, rebuking the Galatians for their legalism, asks this question: “Does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing…?” (The Amplified Bible). The answer is obvious. God works miracles because we believe! We could look at one miracle after another and see that truth in action.
It’s interesting to notice that the power of God isn’t mentioned in most of those instances, just the faith of the people. I think that’s because God’s power and His willingness to heal and work miracles never changes. The variable is people’s faith. Faith is the definitive factor.
Just Do It As important as faith is, however, that alone won’t get the whole job done. You can’t just sit around believing on the inside and doing nothing on the outside. For faith to come alive you have to take action. As James 2:26 says, “faith without works is dead.”
You can see the connection between “doing” and receiving in the very first miracle Jesus ever performed. I especially like to think about this miracle because it was clearly not a miracle Jesus planned to do. It was one that was drawn out of Him by the person who most wanted that miracle—His own mother Mary. John 2 tells us that she and Jesus were attending a wedding in Cana of Galilee and the host ran out of wine. Mary looked to Jesus to do something about it. He told her His time to do such things had not yet come but her faith was unshaken. She continued to expect a miracle and she turned to the servants and said:
Whatever He says to you, do it. Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the brim. Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet] (verses 5-8, The Amplified Bible).
What happened when the servants did what Jesus said?
They saw a miracle. The water was turned into wine!
It would serve us well to always remember what Mary told the servants that day. She said, “Whatever He tells you to do, do it.” That’s one of the major keys to receiving a miracle.
Whatever the Lord says to you—do it.
If the Lord tells you to get up and run, get up and run. If He tells you to dance and shout, then dance and shout. One time a man attended Healing School and during the meeting the Lord told him to run. He didn’t want to run in the meeting so he ran out the door, ran outside and ran around the block. If you think that’s silly, think again because he came back in healed!
Whatever the Lord tells you to do, do it!
If he tells you to repent of something, you repent. If he tells you to forgive someone, forgive them. He knows what you can do that will bring you into position to receive. So listen for His instructions, then obey!
Kick Doubt Out Once you’ve believed and acted on your faith, refuse to doubt or fear. When the devil comes to you and says, You’re not going to get that miracle. You don’t deserve it. Remember how many times you’ve failed God. Refuse to entertain those doubt-producing thoughts. Instead, just answer him and say, “Bless the Lord, I don’t get what I deserve. I get what Jesus bought for me. I get the mercy of God. I get a miracle!”
Every time I think about refusing doubt and fear, I think about the story of Jairus. Initially, when he came to Jesus his daughter needed a healing. She was very sick and Jairus believed if Jesus came and laid His hands on her she would be healed. But before that healing could take place, Jairus’ daughter died. Suddenly the girl didn’t just need a healing, she needed a miracle.
Do you know that Jesus wasn’t disturbed by that? He knew that God could work a miracle just as easily as He could perform a healing. So he said to Jairus, “Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing” (Mark 5:36, The Amplified Bible). We know that this worked because the little girl was raised up whole.
That’s a good word for all of us who are positioning ourselves for a miracle. No matter what the devil says, no matter what circumstances may say, no matter what our natural senses might try to tell us, if we’ll refuse to doubt, refuse to fear and keep on believing God, our miracle will surely come! –Gloria Copeland kcm.org
I read an excerpt this week from Pastor Chad Gonzalez from Jonesboro, AR. It caught my eye and made me ask some questions because the statistics he gave were disturbing to me. This is the excerpt as follows:
Why is your church and your support of it important?
1. 80-85% of all churches have plateaued or are in decline.
2. 95% of all churches stay under 350 in attendance
3. An average of over 6,000 churches close permanently while just 2,500 new churches are planted.
4. The average church attendance is 50-75 people.
5. 64% of the U.S. population is considered unevangelized or non-Christian.
6. In 1900- there was one church for every 450 Americans.
In 2000 – there was one church for every 1,000 Americans.
The local church is God‘s way to unite and equip the body of Christ to reach the world with the hope of the gospel. Make sure you connect and commit to one.
I began to think, why is this happening? I know from friends of mine who are looking for a church home some of the experiences they have had and it would surprise you what is important to the average person in finding a church. We have to stay focused that when we attend church, we aren’t there for other people but our focus is God. With that being said, we are, deep within ourselves, looking for friendships and relationships within the church, also. The number one thing I hear these people say is, “The people are friendly while we are there, but when we leave we never hear from them again.” The Bible says, we are to “bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ“. You aren’t going to pour your heart out to someone you do not know! You don’t know you can trust them; trust is earned! The “law of Christ” is what we will answer for. The “law of Christ” is LOVE!
I talked to a lady recently who told me she had attended for almost a year and a half a particular church, and still did not have one friend! You may say, “Well, what has she done to have friends? Has she been friendly? Has she tried to get involved?” These are legitimate questions and the answer to them all is yes! You may think you can’t get involved with people because of your busy lifestyle. We need to remember, even with busy lifestyles, family, and careers we can void PEOPLE completely out of the equation. When a new person comes to your church it is up to those who are members of that church to make visitors feel welcome. That is why we have greeters, cell groups, etc.. How will they know, if we fail to greet and tell them what we have to offer? If we don’t, we are looking at a permanent visitor rather than a potential member more than likely!
God will not ask us on the day of judgement, “How did that career of yours go? Did you stay busy with things like Martha?” He is going to ask, “Did you love Me and in so doing did you feed my sheep?” Many times when we think of feeding God’s sheep we think it means the Word and it does mean that. But the Bible doesn’t just tell us to preach the Word, but to meet the needs of others as well. In order to meet the needs of others we have to know what they are.
A study was done asking those who did not attend or join a church why they had not. The number one reason was nobody greeted them and no one showed friendliness to them. One of the needs in the Body of Christ is fellowship. Do you know major medical studies have been done that prove that having friends wards off Alzheimers, heart disease, and causes you to live longer? Again, science proves out what God has told us all along!
Don’t just greet with a handshake a new person at your church. Find out their name, where they are from, what they are interested in. Let them know of classes or cell groups your church has that meets those needs and fits their interest! When they miss and then come back let them know you noticed and that their absence was felt and you are glad they are back! Include them if your church members go out to eat after your church service is over and buy their meal if you can! Do everything possible to not just be friendly, but to be a friend, too. Don’t let shyness stop you! Shyness is FEAR! It is literally a fear of people and approaching them! Kick it out and welcome your new people in!
Let us build the church up again, one member at a time! Let us determine to be friendly as much as we expect others to be! Blessings, precious reader! I will see you soon! Juliana
Harvest time is here!
That’s right. As the Body of Christ, we’ve stepped into the season we’ve all been waiting for. We’ve moved into the time when the spiritual and financial crops we’ve planted…and tended…and believed for are coming up. It’s a time to rejoice and celebrate.
There’s nothing better than the thrill of harvest time! Oral Roberts, my spiritual father, and Gloria and I were talking about that fact not long ago, because the Lord had been speaking to him about it. He’d been reminding Brother Roberts of the days back when he held tent meetings in farm communities.
Sometimes he’d come into towns where the crops had been reaped and sold at a good price, and the streets would be full of joyful people. Everyone would be smiling and shouting greetings to each other. They’d be busy buying school clothes for the kids and stocking up for the winter. It was a glorious scene.
I know from my own experience what that’s like. As a child, I used to spend time on my grandfather’s farm. When harvest time came, whole truckloads of people would show up to help bring in the crops. All the kids would play together and at dinnertime, because there were too many people to fit into one house, the whole bunch of us would eat outside.
What fun that was! Everyone was making money. Everyone was on the move. Everyone was enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Nobody was thinking anymore about how hot and tired they’d been when they were out working in the fields, or talking about how their feet got blistered and their hands got calloused when they were chopping cotton and hoeing weeds. They’d forgotten about all that.
They had their minds on the harvest!
Making the Switch
That’s the way we, as seed-sowing believers, ought to be today. We should have our “reaping” faith in gear and our minds on the harvest.
That’s a switch for a lot of us because until now, we’ve focused our faith primarily on planting. We’ve concentrated on God’s promise to provide seed to the sower and bread to the eater.
Thank God for such bread-receiving, seed-sowing faith! It’s wonderful. It’s opened the door for God to meet our needs and give us enough to invest in the work of His kingdom. But that’s not all God wants to do for us. He didn’t just promise to give us food to eat and seed to sow, He promised to multiply that seed and give us a harvest. He said:
He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God (II Corinthians 9:6-11).
God has had harvest time in His sights all along. That’s why He taught us about sowing and reaping. That’s why He sustained us and met our needs while we were waiting for our crops to come up. He intended to multiply our seed and give us such abundant harvests that we’d always have all sufficiency in all things and wouldn’t need any outside aid or support.
From the very beginning, God’s aim was to bless us so extravagantly that we could demonstrate to the world that we don’t need anyone but Jesus to support us. He is our Source. He is the One who enriches us in all things. He is the Lord of the Harvest!
More Than We Expected
Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest. He called Himself that in Luke 10:2. When He sent His disciples out two-by-two into the cities of Israel, He said, “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.”
The problem is, many believers haven’t exercised their faith in the harvest aspect of Jesus’ ministry. They’ve gotten stuck instead on the seed-sowing part. “Brother Copeland,” they say, “I just keep sowing…and sowing…and sowing but nothing is happening.”
Sometimes they even complain about what happened to their seed after they planted it. “I gave $50 to a minister, and then I saw his son riding around on a new bike. I don’t think he should have spent my money that way!”
People with that attitude are digging up their seed. They’re interrupting the growth process and killing their crop. When Brother Roberts told us what God was showing him about harvest time, he said that’s a mistake believers must stop making. He said we must all learn to sow our seed, release our faith, then forget about the seed.
Forget about it?
Yes, forget about it! Let it go! It’s covered up in the soil of God’s kingdom. We’ll never see it again. So we should stop fussing over it…and worrying about it…and wondering what’s become of it.
“Ken, get your mind off the sowing part now,” he said, “and get it on the harvest instead!”
Ever since that discussion, I’ve been doing that more and more. In the process, the Lord has revealed some things to me. He’s let me know, for instance, that the harvest this generation of believers is reaping is far greater than we ever expected. We are bringing in crops we didn’t even plant.
How is that possible?
It’s simple. Many believers in generations gone by who were faithful to sow seed into the kingdom of God didn’t know anything about harvest. As a result, they didn’t reap what belonged to them. They left their spiritual crops in the field.
For a long time, my mom and dad were like that. They had such a strong revelation of the importance of giving into God’s kingdom that they actually added tithing to their wedding vows. Back in 1927 when they were married, they declared they would tithe every dollar that came into their hands all their married life.
They did it, too. All his adult life, my dad had two bank accounts: One was God’s and the other was his. He never mixed them up. As a young boy, I’d go with him to the bank and watch him make out two different deposit slips, one for each account. My dad was diligent to do that for many years. He didn’t know how to reach out and receive his harvest by faith, however, until much later in life. So he never received the fullness of what he’d planted.
Over the centuries, there have been many faithful tithers and givers like my dad—believers who sowed a lifetime of seeds and, because they knew nothing about reaping, never reaped the return. The devil thinks their seeds are buried and forgotten. But God never forgets a seed. He never counts it out. He always multiplies the seed sown, then He goes looking for someone with faith enough to harvest it.
And you know what? We’re the generation of believers He’s been looking for!
We’re the ones who’ve been blessed with the last days outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the revelation of harvest. We’re the ones who will reap the spiritual and financial crops sown by our grandfathers and grandmothers. We’ll bring in harvests sown by spiritual ancestors we don’t even know.
Different Crops: the Same Anointing
I start jumping every time I think about that because harvest time is a happy time. Harvest time is what makes all the work worthwhile. That’s true in the natural scheme of things and it’s even more true spiritually.
Think about it. What could possibly be more thrilling than reaping the biggest harvest of souls in the 2,000-year history of the Body of Christ?
I’m telling you by the Spirit of God, that’s what we are doing. It’s already started. More people are coming into the family of God than ever before in all of Christian history. The Lord of the Harvest is sending us out as laborers to gather up the most staggering spiritual crop this world has ever seen. This is the beginning of massive harvest!
“But Brother Copeland,” someone might say, “I thought you were talking about a financial harvest. I thought you were saying the financial seeds we’ve sown are ready to be reaped.”
You see, you can’t have a spiritual harvest by itself. You have to have a financial harvest at the same time because harvest time is the most-expensive season of the year.
I learned that in my boyhood days on my grandfather’s farm. At harvest time, you’re buying more fuel, you’re hiring more people, you’re spending everything you have to get that crop in from the field before the weather starts to ruin it.
That’s why it takes a harvest of finances to reap a harvest of souls. Bringing in those spiritual sheaves is expensive! That’s OK, though, because the same anointing that brings forth the spiritual crop brings forth the financial crop. Both kinds of seeds are multiplied by THE BLESSING that flows to us and through us from the Lord of the Harvest.
So, roll up your spiritual sleeves and go to work in both realms. Get ready to have the time of your life.
If you haven’t thought of yourself as a harvester before now, start thinking of yourself that way. Renew your mind to the truth of God’s Word. Dare to believe the Lord of the Harvest is calling you—yes, you!—to help Him bring in His end-time crops. He’s speaking to you and saying, “Until now, you’ve known Me as the Lord over your seed. You’ve known Me as your bread provider. But I want you to know Me now as Lord and Minister of the harvest.”
I’m persuaded that’s what Jesus is saying to every believer who will listen these days. His fields are ripe and He is hunting high and low for those who will open their Bibles, stand on His promises of blessing, and get their harvest faith in gear. He is searching for bold receivers who won’t back away in doubt, but will jump on the truck with the rest of the harvesters and head for the fields.
The Lord spoke by prophecy during the 2006 West Coast Believers’ Convention and said those who respond in that way will be equipped with revelation that will help them get the job done. He said:
More and more, faster and faster, in more clarity and detail, the anointing will cause revelation to flow and mysteries in Christ to come clear as never before in these days in which you live. For these are the times when the mysteries shall be unveiled and you’ll say, “My, my, isn’t that simple, isn’t that wonderful.” Hallelujah. And it is and will continue to be that way because these are the times, saith the Lord, when all people will see the glory. The whole earth shall be filled with it. Amen. This is that day and this is that hour and for those that are committed, and those that are strong in the Word, and those that put My Word first place in their lives will continue to flow, and it will be a continuous flow of revelation in your life and it’ll get sweeter and sweeter as the days go by. It’s harvest time!
Things are going to increase in intensity. There are those of you that will begin to experience an outflow and overflow not only of anointing to minister to people, but in the financial realm also. And the increase will come not because of more work, or more effort on your part, but because of the intensified flow of the Holy Ghost. Not by might, not by any other way except by My Spirit, saith the Lord. My power and revelation of the love of God on a level and on a plane never before seen, never before understood by the general population of the Body of Jesus Christ.
The revealings of the secrets of faith and power. Hallelujah. Glorified knowledge in the Holy Ghost, and how to walk in anointings that will cause people to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior; Jesus as Baptizer in the Holy Ghost; Jesus as Healer and Jesus as Financier. You will be able to help them receive on a much higher plane and it will seem like, “Why this is just the most-effortless thing I have ever seen,” and that is exactly true. You are walking into an effortless, sweatless anointing. Hallelujah. A time of great outpouring. It’s here, it’s already in operation, saith the Lord. So jump in, jump in and enjoy the swim for the time has come.
