‘De-Americanised’ world needed after US shutdown: China media

I saw this article today on yahoo news.  When I did cold chills went through me because Revelation 13 prophesies this is exactly what will happen before the Rapture takes place.  The time for sleeping and putting off giving your life to Christ is over!  Read the prophecy for yourself in the Bible.  I pray you are ready and not taken unaware when Christ returns for His church!

Beijing (AFP) – While US politicians grapple with how to reopen their shuttered government and avoid a potentially disastrous default on their debt, the world should consider ‘de-Americanising’, a commentary on China’s official news agency said Sunday.

“As US politicians of both political parties (fail to find a) viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanised world,” the commentary on state news agency Xinhua said.

In a lengthy polemic against American hegemony since World War two, it added: “Such alarming days when the destinies of others are in the hands of a hypocritical nation have to be terminated.

“A new world order should be put in place, according to which all nations, big or small, poor or rich, can have their key interests respected and protected on an equal footing.”

Negotiations over how to end the budgetary impasse have shifted to the US Senate after House Representatives failed to strike a deal with President Obama on extending borrowing authority ahead of an October 17 deadline.

Beijing has in recent days issued warnings as well as appeals for a deal, all the while emphasising the inseparable economic ties that bind the world’s two biggest economies.

“The cyclical stagnation in Washington for a viable bipartisan solution over a federal budget and an approval for raising debt ceiling has again left many nations’ tremendous dollar assets in jeopardy and the international community highly agonised,” said the commentary.

China is the biggest foreign holder of US Treasury bonds, worth a total of $1.28 trillion according to US government data.

“Instead of honouring its duties as a responsible leading power, a self-serving Washington has abused its superpower status and introduced even more chaos into the world by shifting financial risks overseas,” but equally stoked “regional tensions amid territorial disputes, and fighting unwarranted wars under the cover of outright lies” the commentary said, referring to Iraq.

It added that emerging economies should have a greater say in major international financial institutions the World Bank and International Monetary Fund and proposed a “new international reserve currency that is to be created to replace the dominant US dollar”.

China has only slightly more weight than Italy at the IMF, which has been headed by a European since its creation in 1944.

A governance reform has been in the works for three years but its implementation has been blocked by the effective veto of the United States.

At least 32 dead after earthquake strikes China’s Sichuan region

A Communist Party official said  the earthquake that hit China’s Sichuan provinces left at least 32 people dead  and injured more than 600.

Xu Mengjia, party secretary of Ya’an city, which administers the area where  the quake hit, told China Central Television on Saturday that the casualty count  could climb higher.

The quake, which struck shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, was measured at  magnitude-7 by China’s seismological bureau and at 6.6 by the U.S. Geological  Survey. It struck near the area where a devastating quake left 90,000 dead or  missing and presumed dead five years ago.

The quake — measured by China’s seismological bureau at magnitude-7 and the  U.S. Geological Survey at 6.6 — struck the steep hills of Lushan county shortly  after 8 a.m. toppling buildings, many of them older brick structures. People ran  into the streets in their underwear and wrapped in blankets, according to photos  posted online.

The quake’s shallow depth, less than 8 miles, likely magnified the impact.  The official Xinhua News Agency said that the quake rattled buildings in the  provincial capital of Chengdu 70 miles, to the east. It caused the shutdown of  the city’s airport for about an hour before reopening, state media said.

Lushan, where the quake struck, is home to 1.5 million people where the  fertile Sichuan plain meets foothills that eventually rise to the Tibetan  plateau. Known for its mountains, the area is near a well-known preserve for  pandas.

Social media users who said they were in Lushan county posted photos of  collapsed buildings and reported that water and electricity had been cut  off.

A man who answered the phone at the Ya’an city government said  telecommunications were cut and that medical and rescue teams are on the way to  the area.

“I felt the strong quake this morning in my office. All drawers of the desk  opened and some stuff on the table fell on the floor,” said the man, who refused  to give his name, as is usual with low-ranking Chinese government officials.

The area lies near the same Longmenshan fault where the devastating  7.9-magnitude quake struck in May 2008, leaving more than 90,000 people dead or  missing and presumed dead.

Speaking With Tongues Is Not Always Prayer

It is so important to go to a church whose doctrine lines up with the Word of God.  There is a scripture that talks about the rudder of a ship.  In James 3 it states:

3 Not many should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive a stricter judgment,2 for we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says,[a] he is a mature man who is also able to control his whole body.[b]

3 Now when we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we also guide the whole animal.[c] 4 And consider ships: Though very large and driven by fierce winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5 So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites. 6 And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is set on fire by hell.

Notice, that the ship is a type and shadow of the church.  Why would this chapter start with the warning of not many should become teachers?  Because what the minister in the pulpit says will steer where his congregation goes.  It will steer where the church ends up, either in growth or deterioration to the point the church can fold!  How does the minister guide the body he has been put over?  By his tongue!!  It can pollute the body and get the whole church off course!

Recently, I heard of a pastor of a church that told the members they didn’t hear from God.  The only way they could hear from God was through the pastor.  A young minister went to the pastor and told him God had called him elsewhere to begin in the ministry.  That minister then looked at the young man and said, “No, God did not tell you that!  If God had told you that He would have told me first!  Since He has not told me you are not to leave this body!”  Now, what was happening here?  This pastor was trying to get the young man to doubt his ability to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd.  Jesus said He was the good shepherd and HIS sheep KNEW HIS VOICE AND WOULD FOLLOW NO OTHER!  He did not say they would know the pastor’s voice, but HIS!

We follow God and obey Him by what He speaks by the Holy Spirit!  If you could only hear from God through a pastor why would you need to have the gift of tongues?  The pastor could just tell you what God says, you would have the relationship with the pastor and the pastor could just run your life and you would never have to read your Bible, pray, or listen to the instruction the Holy Spirit has for you!  He would not have needed to come and live on the inside of YOU, just live on the inside of the pastor!

Rev. Hagin addresses this in our next section.  Let’s move on to it!

Even in Pentecostal circles, there are all kinds of ideas and teachings about tongues that do not line up with the Word.  For example, some time ago I heard a pastor speak on the subject of tongues before a large crowd of about nine hundred people.  He said something that wasn’t scriptural.  I thought, “I’m so sorry he said that because it isn’t true!”

This pastor misled the whole crowd  because he said that all speaking with tongues is prayer.  All speaking with tongues is NOT prayer.  He took 1 Corinthians 14 where Paul said, “…he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God….”  and applied that verse to ALL speaking in tongues.  It is true that when we pray in tongues in our private prayer lives, we are praying directly to God.  But this pastor failed  to take into account other uses of  tongues which are NOT  prayer.

For example, diverse tongues is a means whereby the Holy Ghost can speak through the believer in a KNOWN tongue.  The tongue may be unknown to the speaker, but known to someone else.  But by saying that all tongues is prayer, this pastor was also discounting the gift of interpretation of tongues whereby God speaks unto man.  That is not prayer, but it is God speaking to man.  Therefore, this pastor’s statement that all tongues is prayer does not line up with what the Word says.

Tongues are manifested in other ways besides just prayer.  As we said previously, tongues may be a manifestation of a known tongue.  For instance, I gave you the example of the pastor who heard me speak in Spanish under the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

If you were to ask me to speak Spanish, I could not do it.  I  can count up to nine in Spanish, and I can say three or four words, but that is all.  But I was speaking very rapidly and fluently in Spanish by the unction of the Holy Spirit.

I held a meeting for a minister who had been a missionary years ago in China.  In the meeting, I spoke in a language I did not know.  I realized it seemed to be Oriental.  Later he and his wife spoke to each other in Chinese and I recognized I had spoken some of those words.

The woman later said to her husband, “Did you understand what Bro. Hagin said?”  Her husband said he had understood at least half of it.  His wife understood most of it.   It had been many years since they had been to China, and the minister said I was not speaking the dialect of the area where they had lived.  He had interpreted by the Holy Spirit the message, but he understood with his mind fifty to sixty percent what I had said in Chinese.

It is true that one phase of speaking with tongues is prayer.  Tongues can be used in prayer.  In fact, no one will ever have a completely successful prayer life without praying in tongues.  You may have been mighty in God without praying in tongues, but you will be more powerful in God by praying in tongues; “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries”  1 Corinthians 14:2.

Moffatt’s translation of 1 Corinthians 14:2 says when a person is speaking in tongues, “…he is talking of divine secrets in the Spirit.”  God has devised a means whereby we may speak supernaturally to Him.  By speaking in tongues, man can talk divine secrets with God.”

Blessings to you, dear reader!  I hope this helped you!  Please,  join me again tomorrow when we discuss “Tongues: A Means of Edifying Yourself”.
