20 A man’s [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil].
Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be). Matthew 28:18-20 AMP
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?
There are times discernment shows you the good. There are times discernment will show you the bad, the traps, the set-ups, and the dangers. Thank God for both! When we see the good, we are able to walk into a blessing, be a blessing, or know how to pray so that the particular thing we have seen can go through to fruition if it hasn’t already.
When in discernment we see the plan the enemy has set up for us or others, we again know how to pray, answer, or stand still and see the victory of God! Recently, this was the discernment I experienced and I thank God for it! This was the second time in two weeks satan had used a particular person to try to trap me into saying something they could take to others as gossip with motivations I didn’t mean or feel.
I was shocked who this came through to some level because this person had been dear to me. I knew she had crossed over into a dangerous game of “run and tell”. I knew she had done it with others and I should have known my time would be coming. Momma always says, “If they will talk to you about someone else, they will talk to someone else about you.” How sadly true this has proven to be.
I made my words few and I waited to respond trying to choose my words wisely. No matter what you say in a situation like this, you just cannot win. As I went to the Lord about it, He impressed some things upon me. Many people think their day of dying and judgement is not coming or won’t be coming for some time. Heaven is full of surprised people! As Christians, the Bible says we won’t be judged but our works will be tried by fire. In other words, we can lose eternal reward for things we say and do, or we can gain a reward according to what our heart’s motives are.
When this person played this ungodly game with me, the Lord spoke to me and said, “Keep your attitude and thoughts and words where you will not be found lacking when you stand before Me, for no man knows when that time will be!” Was God pronouncing a death sentence on me? Of course not! But, He was saying if I were to answer to Him unexpectedly, would there be anything in my life I would regret coming up between us?
I ask you, dear reader, if you were to meet God unexpectedly, is there anything you would hang your head for, make excuses for, or be ashamed for others to know? On that day when we stand before God, all excuses will be stripped bare! All reasoning will be proven foolish and there will be no escape. God says for us to judge ourselves while there is still time! When we stand face to face with Him, it will be too late to rectify what He gave us every chance to correct in this life. Don’t be caught lacking! Nothing in this life is worth the permanence of loss with Him!
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14,16 AMP
4 We have this kind of confidence toward God through Christ. 5 It is not that we are competent in[a] ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God. 2 Corinthians 3:4-5
