Feeding your spirit, soul, and body!

When a “No” in Prayer Was Actually A “Yes”!

when a no in prayer was actually a yesTomorrow, a friend and I will begin teaching a class on prayer.  I am excited because once again I am teaching something I am passionate about, and I am teaching from one of my favorite books in the world, “Bible Prayer Study Course” by Kenneth E. Hagin.  A refresher is always, well, refreshing!

As I was praying about tomorrow God spoke to me and said, “So many people have not received their answers to prayer, not because I wasn’t willing to give it, but because they weren’t willing to wait”.  I have heard people say over and over the reason why some prayers are not answered is because it wasn’t God’s will, or it was because the answer is no.  When does God say, “No”?  One of the reasons is when people can pray out of selfish motives.  The Bible tells us James 4:1-3 the following-

What leads to strife (discord and feuds) and how do conflicts (quarrels and fightings) originate among you? Do they not arise from your sensual desires that are ever warring in your bodily members?

2 You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask.

3 [Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures.

“Nos” sometimes come from praying selfishly and with evil motives!  It does not come from “not having enough faith”.  Since we know what prayers DON’T get answered, we can take the opposite and know the prayers that do!

The Bible says if we pray anything according to His will (the Bible) believing He hears us, we will have what we ask for!  Let us look-

1 John 5:14-15

King James Version (KJV)

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Notice He says, “….whatsoever we ask….”  but it also says, “…if we ask any thing ACCORDING TO HIS WILL…”  If you are praying what the Bible says, in other words if you have a verse that backs your request, you WILL NOT  be told no IF you remain in faith!  Let me give you an example of this.

In 2005, I had a hysterectomy.  When I came out of surgery, my heart was racing and would not stop without medicine.  The doctors released me to come home after two days with a beta-blocker.  It made me so sick!!  I had severe nausea, no energy!  I could not even get out of bed unassisted to go to the restroom.  I asked my husband to hand me my Bible and to leave me alone until I called for him.  I needed time alone with God.  I began to pray fervently in the Spirit!!  When I opened my Bible it fell to Psalm 16.  I had never seen this particular verse before that time.  It says-

8 I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety,

10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol (the place of the dead), neither will You suffer Your holy one [Holy One] to see corruption.

11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

When I saw the part that says, “…MY BODY TOO SHALL REST AND CONFIDENTLY DWELL IN SAFETY…” I knew I was healed!  There was no way around it!!  What excited me even more was no matter what the devil would try to bring on my body, after finding this scripture, I knew it would ALL  be healed!!  I threw out my medicine (YOU DON’T DO THIS…I don’t know where your faith is) and until August 2012, tachycardia was gone!  It is September 2013, and I take no medication for my heart because when that FOOL devil tried to bring it back on me, I dug in again and ALL symptoms are gone!  Praise God!!!

Now, let us look at that last episode of tachycardia.  There is a lot to learn here.  Oral Roberts did a study of all the people he could contact that had been healed in his meetings.  He found only about 98% kept their healings!  As he researched further, he found why.  When the devil would come back to put those same symptoms on people they would say, “Well, I guess I didn’t get my healing after all.  The same symptoms are back so I must have lost my healing”.  What happened?  They didn’t know WHO brought those symptoms back, and they didn’t know how to rebuke the one who did!

Oral Roberts and Ken Hagin began to teach how to be healed and keep your healing.  Thank God, I had read Ken Hagin’s book on this!!  Sure enough, here comes that FOOL devil, again with his old bag of tricks.  He decided to dump it out all over me!!  My heart began to race and back on the medicine I went.  One night, I “came to myself” and had a revelation.  I had not resisted the devil at his onset and I didn’t rebuke him.

I got up, it was night time when this came to me and I had already gone to bed, and I rebuked, cursed the devil, and began to claim my healing with the Word of God, again.  This time the symptoms did not immediately leave as they did the first time.  At that point I had a choice!  I could have said, “Well, God I guess You aren’t going to heal me this time.”  Or I could have put a time limit on God and if it had not happened by that time I could have decided it wasn’t God’s will to heal me.  How sad, because the Bible says we are ALREADY healed not trying to GET healed!  If I had done either of those things I would still be on a beta-blocker today.  Praise God, I take NO medicine for my heart because I don’t need it!  I continued to stand on God’s word!  When my heart would try to race, even with the medicine, I would say, “Praise God I am healed and whole by the stripes 0f Jesus!!”  It was on a Wednesday night about two months ago it manifested!  GLORY TO GOD!!!

Now, was I getting a “no” from God when I didn’t see what I prayed about immediately?  Or was I getting a “no” when I didn’t see it 2-3 months later?  NO!  When Daniel prayed he had to wait 21 days for his answer to get to him.  God sent the angel with the answer the second he prayed, but the angel had been fighting demons in the heavenlies  and that is what took so long for the answer to come!

This is why it is so important to pray in the Holy Ghost!  He prays God’s perfect will for us and through us for other people and satan has no idea what is being said so he can’t sabbotage it!

Hold on to your “believer” folks!  If you are going to throw something down or away let it be human reasoning and doubt!!  Stay with the Word!!!  It is worth it!  Don’t put time limits on God!  Pray, believe and praise God for your answer and then  let God show out on your behalf from there!   Blessings to you, precious reader!!  Simply, Juliana

Daily Bible Devotions-Wigglesworth and the Prayer of Agreement

wigglesworth prayer of agreement

We are continuing our study on the prayer of agreement.  I am so excited we are covering this topic because it is a prayer that is mighty and bring powerful results and I have witnessed that personally!  If you will remember just two days ago my husband called me in severe pain with a tooth that turned out to be abcessed.  We prayed the prayer of agreement and within 20 minutes all pain left his body and it has not returned!!  Glory to God!!

Today we are going to study another wonderful man of God, Smith Wigglesworth, and his experience with the prayer of agreement.  Remember we are studying Reverend Kenneth E. Hagin‘s BIBLE PRAYER STUDY COURSE and everything in italics is from his book.  Grab your coffee or tea and let us dive right in!

Some time ago, I read the following account in one of Smith Wigglesworth’s sermons.  Wigglesworth said that in England a woman from a Presbyterian church had come to their little mission, had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and had spoken in tongues.

You may remember that when you were first filled with the Holy Ghost, you felt so wonderful you tought everyone would be glad to know about it.  You thought all your friends and family would just be tickled to know about this New Tesstament experience.

Well, this lady thought that those  in her church would be glad to know about the baptism in the Holy Spirit, too.  She went back to her church, and when God began to move in the service, she began to speak in tongues.  But the elders got up and threw her out of the church.  Her husband happened to be on the church board, and they had a meeting and informed him that he was going to have to put a stop to his wife’s speaking in tongues in church, or they were going to have to excommunicate her from the church.

The man went home angry and stormed in and laid down an ultimatum to his wife.  He informed her that she was either going to have to give up this Holy Ghost business and this tongue talking, or give him up.  He wasn’t going to put up with it!  He was going to give her ten days to make up her mind whether she wanted him or the Holy Ghost.

This woman sent word for Wigglesworth to come and pray with her.  She needed his advice.  Wigglesworth didn’t come to visit her as fast as she thought he should.  One day he finally knocked on her door.  She told him he had come too late.  He didn’t know why she had invited to visit her.  He just responded that God had never sent him anywhere too late.

The woman told Wigglesworth her story.  The tenth day of her husband’s ultimatum was up that very day.  Her husband had asked her at the breakfast table what her decision was.  She had said she couldn’t give up the Holy Ghost, so her husband left.

Wigglesworth told this distraught woman that if they would agree in prayer according Matthew 18:19, her husband would be back.  She said, “Yes, but you don’t know my husband.”  Wigglesworth agreed he didn’t know her husband, but he told the woman he did know JESUS.   He showed her Matthew 18:19.  The woman said she had been living with her husband for 25 years, and in all that time he had never gone back on his word.  When he made up his mind, that was it;  it was a settled matter!

Wigglesworth exhorted the woman that God’s Word is true.  He told her if she would agree with him, her husband would be back that very evening.  It took Wigglesworth a little time to get her to the place of agreeing because she was looking at the situation from the natural standpoint.  When Wigglesworth finally got her to see what the Word says, she consented to agree with him in prayer.  The prayed and agreed.

He told her when her husband came back, she would be sweet and lovely and act like nothing had happened.  Wigglesworth told her when her husband went to bed, she would start praying quietly to herself, in the Spirit.  When she was in the Spirit, she should go quietly and lay her hands on him and claim his soul.

You see, you have authority in your house.  There is something here that we have failed to see as we ought to have.  You can change things in prayer.

Wigglesworth left, and, of course, the man came back that evening.  She and Wigglesworth had agreed on it!  His wife had his favorite supper cooked and everything was fine and dandy.  After he went to bed, she got off by herself to pray.  She got to praying in tongues and then very quietly went into the bedroom and knelt and laid her hands on him and claimed his soul for the Lord.  She also claimed his complete deliverance.

The minute she did that, he awakened and jumped out of bed.  He dropped to his knees and lifted his hands and asked the Lord to save him. He was saved and in a few minutes’ time was filled with the Holy Ghost.  His salvation occured after his wife took the authority in her house that belonged her (see Acts 16:31).

Praise God we have authority in our homes and with our families!  God has promised if we are saved, He will save our family members, too!  What a great and excellent promise!  Blessings, dear reader!  Go with God as God goes with you!!  Juliana

Christian Devotions-Tongues: A Means of Praying Supernaturally, Part 2

a means of praying supernaturally

Christian Devotions

Welcome back to our series on the baptism in the Holy Spirit!  We are still studying from Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin‘s “Bible Prayer Study Course”.  It has been a refresher for me, and I hope you are enjoying it, dear reader!!  Grab your coffee or tea and let’s dive right in!

A friend whom I had known since he was a child, became a minister when he grew up.  When he was in his early twenties he went to prach a service one night, and on the way back home, a fellow who was weaving all over the highway in his automobile hit this minister’s car head on.

At this time the young minister and his wife were living with the minister’s father who was a pastor.  The father got a call from the hospital and was told that his son had been in a car wreck.

When the father got there, the doctors told him that his son’s neck and back were broken, and that he was paralyzed from his waist down and was unconscious.  The doctor said the young minister would always be paralyzed to some extent, and they doubted if he would ever make much improvement.  Actually, the doctors couldn’t believe he wasn’t dead.  They put him in a full body cast.  His neck and his back were broken, and he was unconscious.  The father stayed by his son’s bedside all night.  At one point, his son had temporarily regained consciousness but had again lapsed back into unconsciousness.

The next night when the father went to the hospital, the young man was still unconscious.  The father told the nurses he was going to stay and pray at his son’s bedside.

The young minister regained consciousness for a little while again that night.  The father told his son to blink his eyes if he could understand what he was saying to him, so the son blinked his eyes.  Then the young man lapsed back into unconsciousness.  The father stayed and prayed.  He began to pray at 8:00 in the evening.  At 12:00 midnight, the father was still praying in tongues.  He heard the nurse come in but he never opened his eyes; he just kept praying in tongues.  He prayed about ten hours in tongues.

Early the next morning at almost 6:00, the father got up and went over to his son.  He saw that his son was lying there with his eyes open.  He asked his son if he could hear him, and his son spoke up and said he could.  The young man told his father that he was alright and that God had healed him.  The young man began to wiggle his fingers and toes; he had feeling all over his body.

The nurse and the doctor came in, and they both said it was truly amazing; it was a miracle!  The young minister told them that God had healed him and he wanted the doctor to take the cast off.  He told the doctor that he would find that the two breaks in his back and neck were healed and that he was alright.

After much persuasion the doctor took the young minister and x-rayed his spine.  The doctor came back and said he just couldn’t believe it!  He couldn’t even find where his back had been broken.  God had mended it so that it was just as normal as it was before!  The doctor examined the X-rays again and still couldn’t find anything.  They kept the young man hospitalized for a day or two and kept checking him.  They told him to wear a neck brace for a little while, but he went home and took it off.

Years later this man was still alright.  He’s been out preaching the gospel for years.  The church had prayed about it, but the father got the job done when he began to pray in the Spirit.  He got the help of the Holy Ghost.  You increase your power in prayer one hundred percent by praying in other tongues!

Many times I have prayed in tongues for hours, and in tha time the tongues have changed and I have spoken half a dozen different tongues or languages.  Many times as the tongues would change, God would let me see foreign people.  I would see foreign houses or buildings.  That vision would stay before me all the time I was praying in tongues.  I didn’t know what tongues I was praying in, but I knew I was praying for those foreign people in their native tongue.

In some cases, I would later pick up a Pentecostal magazine and see the picture of he very folks for whom I was praying.  I would read about a revival that broke out in that area.  I believe the Spirit of God enabled me to have a part in it.  You can stay home and have a part in the work of God around the world.  There are more ways than one to “go” and take the gospel around the world.

No matter how much I read this, it blesses me.  Little did Rev. Hagin know at the time that the internet would exist and we would be able to write and minister to people all over the world!  I wonder if some dear grandmother prayed that in!!  If she did, what a reward she has coming in heaven!!!  Praise God, we can be missionaries to foreign countries in our living rooms, praying in the Spirit and writing what God wants ALL the earth to know…that He loves them and Jesus died to save them!!

Come back tomorrow when we will be reading “Praying in Tongues is Unselfish Prayer”.  I know you will be blessed by the devotion!  Have a blessed day, precious reader!!  I will see you soon!  Juliana

Tongues: A Means of Praying Supernaturally/Part 1

tongues praying supernaturally 1

Christian Devotions

We are back to our “Prayer Bible Study Course” by  Reverend Kenneth Hagin, Sr..  I think this is one my favorite topics because it is something I practice daily as much as possible!  God has really ministered to be about things of the past, present and future during this type of prayer!  Many wonderful things have been birthed in the Lord and in my family while praying in the Spirit!  Grab your coffee or tea and let’s dig in to another wonderful time with Brother Hagin!

I want every Christian to know the joy of fellowshipping with the Lord in the Spirit.  As we discussed earlier, the Holy Spirit in you can help you with your praying.  The Bible says, “…my spirit (by the Holy Spirit within me) prays…” (1 Corinthians 14:14 Amplified Bible).

I cannot overestimate what this kind of praying meant to my life personally.  there is no way in the world to estimate its value.  I simply could never overestimate the value of praying in tongues.

For example, I have traveled for many years away from home. And again and agin, if anything was happening at home about which I needed to be aware, the Holy Spirit would immediately alert me in my spirit.  I would wake up in the night and something on the inside of me would say, “Something is not right.  One fo the family members is in trouble. Something is wrong.”

Immediately I would say to the Holy Ghost (no, I do not pray to the Holy Ghost.  But He is a Person, a divine personality, and He is within me, and I do talk to Him), “I don’t know what is wrong, but You know everything.  You are in me as my helper.  Help me pray about this condition or situation the way it should be prayed about.”

Then I would begin to pray in tongues. I would pray on and on in tongues.  I have prayed as many as six hours in tongues.  Many times He will let me know what I am praying about and give me the answer to my prayer in the spirit.  Whether He shows me the answer then or not, in a few days I see the situation work out fine.  We can do work for God praying supernaturally in tongues.

I do fifty percent of my praying in tongues.  For instance, if my son or daughter or members of their families are having some trouble, I might not know what the trouble is.  I will tell the Lord that I don’t know for what to pray as I ought, but that I am looking to the Holy Spirit to help me.Sometimes I pray for my children for an hour in tongues.

Sometimes I’ll have a revelation or God will show me the answer.  He will show me just exactly what to do.  But whether or not you have any revelation about the situation you are praying about, just continue to pray in tongues because the Holy Spirit knows and He is taking hold with you against the problem.  that kind of praying gets the job done when nothing else will.

I have divided this into two parts because it is a bit lengthy, and it is so important to comprehend this so much!!  This is where your prayer power lays!  Don’t miss tomorrow’s Christian devotion where we will wrap this up before starting “Praying in Tongues is Unselfish Prayer”.  Blessings, dear reader!!  I will see you soon!   Juliana

Christian Devotions-Praying in the Spirit Builds You In Faith!

In this Christian devotion we are going to learn how praying in the Spirit is essential to building our faith!  I will be, as always, basing MUCH on what the Reverend Kenneth E. Hagin taught me through the “Bible Prayer Study Course”!

This is where we learn praying in tongues is NOT just for the church, although it is given to the church for exhortation (we will cover this more later).  It is VERY important, that once you are saved and receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, you pray EVERY DAY in the Spirit!  He will pray things through you, you have no knowledge of, of things to come and therefore many traps have been literally avoided without us even knowing they were ever laid for us to begin with.  The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit prays the PERFECT will of God for our lives and when we pray in the Spirit, ALL things work together for our good!  See the importance of why we do this emerging?  Now, grab your coffee or tea and  let us move into our lesson!  EVERYTHING in boldface and in italics is from Rev. Hagin.

Tongues is also a means of building yourself up spirtually.  In 1 Corinthians 14:4, Paul said, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself….”  That means he builds himself up spiritually.

King James Version (KJV)

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

This verse does not say praying in the Holy Ghost will give you faith, but it says that praying in the Holy Ghost will BUILD YOU UP on your most holy faith.  Praying in tongues builds you up on the faith you already have;  it is a means of spiritual edification.

I had an experience when I was a pastor of a community church that helped me a great deal.  I happened to be staying in a good Christian home.  The doctors said the woman of this home had an ulcerated stomach, and they  confided to her husband that they thought it would probably turn into cancer of the stomach.  She could not eat anything except baby food and a few raw eggs mixed in sweet milk, and she had trouble keeping even that on her stomach.  She was desperately ill.

I wasn’t there when she later received the baptism in the Holy Ghost, but she told me about her experience of being filled with the Holy Ghost and speaking with tongues.   No one prayed for her healing, but from that moment she received the Holy Ghost, she was automatically healed and ate anything she wanted.  She was perfectly healed!

I believe in divine healing because the Word of God talks about it and because I myself had been raised up off a deathbed.  One surely could not find fault with an experience that could bring both healing and blessing.  The woman was a believer, a child of God, and I considered her to be a very wonderful Christian.  In fact, I considered her to be one of the most wonderful Christian women I had ever met.  After this woman received the Holy Spirit and began praying in tongues, she built herself up in her most holy faith, and her faith began to operate.

I have seen that many times.  Many times people with incurable conditions receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and speak with tongues and are healed.  I prayed for some of these same people before, and they did not receive their healing when I prayed for them, for one reason or another.  We know that speaking with tongues is a tremendous spiritual boost to a person.  It does edify him and him up!

Praise God, I trust this Christian devotion has brought encouragement to you, dear reader!!  I know reading it again has brought joy to my heart!  Come back tomorrow when we will learn about “Tongues: A Means of Magnifying God”!  You won’t be disappointed!!   Blessings in abundance to you!!    Juliana
