More and more the Lord has spoken, “STAY IN UNITY!!” Unity is one of the most powerful instruments God uses. In Genesis God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit were observing the people building the Tower of Babel. God spoke and said because of this unity, NOTHING would be impossible to them, therefore they would have to confuse their languages! Unity brings mighty power, therefore unity and all of its components are full of power to change and build up! Unity is literally a catalyst that causes faith to work because its basis is love. Faith works only if the love of God is in operation and sincere in one’s life! We know faith is necessary in order for our prayers to produce what we need and are asking of God. If satan can bring disharmony, disunity, and confusion our prayers are not only affected they can be completely nullified!
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.
When something is working it is accomplishing something, it is usable; It isn’t broken and unusable.
When I speak of love in this sense I am speaking of the Greek word ‘agape’ love. This is God’s love. This is the love that is shed abroad in our hearts when we become born again. Man’s idea of love and God’s idea of love are two different things. Many times our idea of love toward people would be better defined as ‘like’. For instance ”I like you, therefore I accept you. I like you, therefore I want to spend time with you. I like you, therefore I forgive you more easily and overlook your faults in a way I don’t do with someone I don’t really like.” This type of “love” is a natural based love from the natural side of man.
We are made of three parts. It is typically known as “The Trichotomy of Man”.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 Amplified Bible
23 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
We are made of a spirit, soul, and a physical body. Though our spirits are redeemed when we are born again, our souls have to be sanctified by studying the Word of God, knowing God through a personal relationship, which is by prayer and spending time in His presence. The more time we spend with God the more our personalities are shaped and formed to reflect Him and His personality. This is when we “decrease” and God “increases’! It is part of the “great exchange”. We exchange our sin for God’s righteousness, our weaknesses for His strength, our flawed love for His perfect agape love.
Agape is defined as unconditional selfless, self-giving, sacrificial love. That is exactly what Jesus is and what He demonstrated. He said if we have seen Him we have seen the Father! Jesus was selfless. The Word says when He made of Himself no reputation, but went about doing good! He gave of Himself so much, when they were going “to the other side” and the wind became so boisterous it was “of hurricane proportions” Jesus was so tired, He was asleep in the hull of the ship, but He was still going to the other side to minister! Sacrificial love is exactly what it says. Jesus loved us so much, that without any resistance, He gave His life in the most painful death imaginable!
Our love to one another must have the same characteristics! We cannot attain unconditional selfless, self-giving, sacrificial love on our own. It is something that is developed by God as we give ourselves totally and completely to Him and put ourselves aside and keep Him ever before us! As we do, our reflection is no longer of ourselves, but of our Father. What a beautiful process!
God bless you, dear reader! I will see you soon! Juliana
25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 New International Translation (NLV)
Have a wonderful Sunday! Don’t forget to make God part of it! Remember you are not forsaken…He will meet you there. Blessings to you, precious reader!!
I desire mercy [readiness to help, to spare, to forgive] rather than sacrifice….Matthew 12:7 Amplified Bible
