Psalm 103 Amplified
1 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits—
3 Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;
5 Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring]!
“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalms 32:8
We sold our house last Friday and moved out. One day, during my prayer time, God spoke to me and said, “Sell your house now, now, now!” Don’t laugh too hard on this next part. I went to my husband and told him what God said and he said we needed to pray about it first. I completely agreed…don’t laugh too hard! Why do we pray instead of just obey what we already know to do? To delay what we really don’t want to do is the reason we did it I believe.
Our home was paid for, beautiful, and paid for!! Love the paid for part! But, it wasn’t what we WANTED! I praise God for that house and the happy years we had in it, but God had been speaking to me for some time, it wasn’t the house He wanted to give us. There was something else and I was to believe and praise Him for it.
I have a friend that was told by several doctors, including fertility specialists, there would be no way for her to ever conceive a child. One day she cried out to God in utter heartbreak. After she had cried out to the Lord He said only five words to her. They were, “Go get your nursery ready”. It took her by surprise, and she went and told her husband what God had said. “Well, go get it ready! We have work to do!”
This couple had not conceived a baby. The doctor’s diagnoses were not only clear, but had proven medically there was no way for her to carry a child; But God had another plan! Where there is a plan from God, even though it is impossible in the natural, there is a way in the supernatural with Him! They went out that very day and bought a baby bed, changing table, and dresser for the ‘nursery’. Then she began to decide on a theme. She found diaper holders, night lights, sheets, wall hangings, and toy boxes in that theme and she purchased them. She got her Bible and every place God led her to, to pray scriptures for a child, she wrote them down and began to pray them. In less than 3 months, my friend was pregnant with no help of in vitro! Just a few years later they tried for their second baby and God did it again!
The same is true of my situation. God told me there was a house He wanted to give me and He wanted us to believe for it. I have never been one to look at home decor. I have no talent there, whatsoever! I am not like the normal woman and want this, that, and the other for a ‘dream home’. I had never even desired a ‘dream home’! I never desired one until God told me He wanted to give me one! God will line your desires up with His if you will pray and listen. When we do that, we often want things that we never wanted before and God delights and giving those desires to us!
We put our house up and it sold quickly! The funny thing is, I began to think before we got an offer on the house, “Do I really want to do this? This house is paid for, my kids grew up here, there are so many good memories, and hubby will let me redo it the way I want it.” I went to hubby with what I had been thinking about. I was wavering in fear!
When I told him what I thought he agreed and we decided to pack the old ‘For Sale’ sign up and take it off the market. Before we could do it, a couple called and made an offer on the house, right down to the last penny we had asked! No lower price, but exactly what we wanted. What happened? God knew through our fear of change we were about to abort the plan He had for us.
To make a long story short, we sold it, and we are praying and waiting on God to tell us what the next step is. The moral of the story is don’t rethink things for God! He knows what is ahead and He delights in blessing us, just as we delight in blessing our children!
We don’t just give our children the necessities, but we love to surprise them with something they love every once in awhile! God is no different as our Father! He delights in giving us the desires of our hearts as long as they aren’t desires that come before our relationship with Him.
Have you been believing God for something? Does it seem to be taking a long time? Don’t give up! Pray the scriptures God gave you, make sure it is His will, and praise Him in faith knowing it is coming!
